For decades, Susie Hnilicka has painted what words could not always express.
Born in Zurich in 1956, Susie moved to Italy in her twenties, bringing with her a deep curiosity for people, places, nature, and the stories hidden within everyday life.
Her artistic journey has never followed a single path. It has grown alongside her life — through different countries, experiences, encounters, and memories — always returning to the canvas as a place of freedom and expression.
A LIFE IN COLOUR
Susie began painting with tempera before discovering the depth and richness of oil painting.
Over the years, her artistic language evolved naturally, shaped by her surroundings and by the things that moved her most: women, nature, dreams, spirituality, animals, flowers, and the quiet poetry of everyday life.
Her paintings are deeply personal, yet intentionally open to interpretation.
Each viewer is invited to find their own story within them.
