Susie Hnilicka is a Swiss contemporary artist whose work is distinguished by vibrant colors, symbolic richness and deeply evocative visual storytelling.

Her artistic journey began in the mid-1970s with the textile work Es spritzt, created at the age of seventeen while studying in Zurich. This formative moment marked a profound turning point, revealing art as the essential language through which she could give form to her inner world.

Over the years, Hnilicka has developed a unique artistic language positioned between figurative and abstract expression.

Her paintings are immersive visual worlds where imagination, memory, spirituality and emotion coexist in dynamic balance.

Recurring symbols such as hearts, crosses, trees, flowers, animals, villages and circular sacred forms appear throughout her work, creating a symbolic universe rooted in both personal introspection and universal human experience.

Her artistic research explores the dialogue between the visible and the invisible, the real and the imagined. Through powerful chromatic relationships—particularly between vibrant reds and deep blues—she creates emotionally charged compositions that invite reflection, wonder and connection.

Today, Susie Hnilicka’s work resonates with collectors, galleries and design-conscious audiences seeking art that is visually powerful, emotionally rich and symbolically meaningful.
